The Transcending Beauty
How about a ‘wow’ factor? And what if this ‘wow’ factor dazzled you everyday! Welcome to One Avighna Park, where the amazing crystal installation in the grand lobby of the residential tower will take your breath away. Talk about a dazzling first impression, and a lasting first impression.
Installed in an ornamental pattern, the Transcendence sets a new aesthetical benchmark in the luxury homes segment. Transcendence is a first-of-its-kind art installation for a luxury residence project in Mumbai made with 54,450 imported crystals.
We delve into the thought process that went into the making of this new-age architectural marvel at One Avighna Park.
Pronit Nath, the designer of Transcendence, was assigned with a task to create a Grand Entrance Lobby that could very well reflect the real essence of luxury living. The core focus was on giving its occupants a never-before like experience, right from their first step into the residence. To meet this purpose, Mr. Nath visualized a concept by marrying the vibrancies and timelessness encompassing the spirit of Mumbai into a true artwork of beauty.
“The sheer scale of lobby made it possible to imagine a canvas where strokes of imagination would be bold, unhindered and unbridled. Thus, the crux of my proposal was in visually unifying the space with an elegant and beautiful ceiling element of light weaved in a crystal rope,” recollects Pronit Nath.
Creating the art installation without compromising on its visual appeal and design were the critical factors considered during the making of Transcendence. Precision in planning and execution had to be uncompromised. To successfully create the visual marvel, crystals pieces were brought all the way from Asfour Crystal Company in Egypt.
Gracefully hung from the ceiling of the grand lobby at One Avighna Park, Transcendence is built with pear-shaped crystals. These delicate pieces were woven together to create ornamental necklace like forms. A key factor that distinguishes the art installation is its whopping length of almost 2.6km, with each of these crystals placed at a diameter of 40mm. The creation weighs a total of more than 5 tons. The geometry of the crystal creation comprises a plethora of catenary curves, each of which is realized as a collection of carefully selected 30 mm crystals attached to a thin SS cable.
Lighting was another essential in reflecting the beauty of Transcendence at One Avighna Park. The purpose was met by DHA Design Services of London, UK, who designed the lighting system for the Transcendence. A family of theatrical LED projects were used to cross-light the strings of crystals. The set-up allowed the lights to reflect through the crystal balls and produce a remarkably shimmering effect on the walls and floor, like a string of jewels draped beautifully from the ceiling. Another benefit of using the LED projectors was that it reduces the requirement of additional lighting and thereby conserves electricity.
Dropping low seductively on the seating zones, the art installation is a visual treat in itself, and sets the benchmark in fine living in Mumbai.
Transcendence reflects the true essence of luxury living, and is an epitome of architectural brilliance that makes One Avighna Park standout in Mumbai’s luxury housing market.
